On behalf of the Foundation for Orthopaedic Research and Education (FORE) and our fellow esteemed Faculty, it is our pleasure to announce the inaugural Critical Concepts in Shoulder & Elbow Surgery Course scheduled for October 13 – 15, 2022 at the Encore at Wynn® Las Vegas in Las Vegas, NV.
Shoulder and elbow conditions may be focused anatomically, but the pathologies encountered in these two joints and their respective treatments could not be more diverse: from irreparable cuff tears to sports injuries; arthroscopy, arthroplasty, and fracture management; biologics; advanced technology, you name it! The field is so wide that a focused review on what’s really critical and what you really need to know, is very helpful.
Learn from world-class Faculty with three days of a few didactic presentations, but mostly interactive case-based panel discussions, video vignettes highlighting surgical techniques, and industry-sponsored sessions. The comprehensive educational agenda will include:
  • Fractures of the clavicle, shoulder, and elbow
  • Management of sport shoulder and elbow injuries
  • The whole spectrum of rotator cuff tears, including salvage options
  • Anatomic and reverse shoulder arthroplasty: when, why, and how!
We look forward to seeing you in Las Vegas for a focused review of critical concepts that simply cannot be missed!

  • Evaluate rotator cuff repair options for different patient categories; understand and evaluate the benefits associated with various rotator cuff repair techniques (single vs. double row, knot vs. knotless, and the use of augmentation devices).
  • Compare the various treatment options for massive, retracted, and irreparable rotator cuff tears; consider repair strategies that optimize outcomes for failed rotator cuff repairs.
  • Compare diagnostic and treatment options for anterior, posterior, and multi-directional instability; understand surgical options in managing glenoid bone loss in shoulder instability.
  • Apply the latest and current treatment techniques in their sports medicine and orthopaedic practice.
  • Compare treatment and management options for shoulder arthroplasty patients; understand differences and potential benefits between hemi, anatomical total shoulder arthroplasty, and reverse shoulder arthroplasty.
